The Montessori Academy at St. John's

Toddler

18–36 months

At Montessori Academy at St. John's, our Toddler Program is thoughtfully designed to nurture the natural curiosity and development of children aged 18 months to 3 years. We believe that the early years are a critical period for growth, where every moment is an opportunity for exploration, discovery, and learning.

An environment conducive to learning

Our Toddler classroom is a specially prepared environment that caters to the developmental needs of young children. The space is carefully arranged to promote independence, freedom of movement, and hands-on learning. Low shelves, child-sized furniture, and age-appropriate materials encourage toddlers to explore their surroundings safely and confidently.

Absorbing language

Language development is a critical focus for our toddlers. Through songs, stories, conversations, and language-rich activities, children are encouraged to expand their vocabulary and express themselves. Social interactions are nurtured in a supportive setting, allowing children to learn to communicate their needs, share, and collaborate with their peers.

A community

At Montessori Academy at St. John's, we prioritize building a nurturing, respectful community that honors each child's dignity and individuality. Our educators are trained in the Montessori philosophy, ensuring that every child feels safe, loved, and respected. We emphasize grace, courtesy, and empathy, creating a positive social environment where children learn to respect themselves, others, and their surroundings.

"Our son attended from 18 months through 3 years old. During that time, we saw tremendous development in his independence, conversational ability, and curiosity. The teachers are excellent and trustworthy."

Swift-Perez Family

"The Montessori Academy at St John’s is definitely THE BEST!!! My daughter has been attending this school since Spring 2021 and she loves it. The teachers and all the staff are very knowledgeable and caring. As first time parents they helped us feel confident that our daughter was in the best hands, plus being a great support system to us. The school has also provided a real sense of community, thanks to them we’ve met amazing people who are on the same journey as we are. Our daughter is now in Kindergarten and I know she has all the emotional/social skills that are vital during the first years of life in a child plus the educational skills that she needs. We couldn’t be happier with our school and we want to be part of this wonderful family/community for a long as we can."
